Domingos Serrão (c. 1570 - 1632)

A 16th century Mannerist painter (c. 1570 - 1632), of Tomar origin. Between 1592 and 1600, he painted two female figures, allegories of Faith and Charity, on the eastwards doorposts of the old entrance to the Templar Charola (or Rotunda) Round Church. He is also credited with authorship of the "Resurrection of Christ" on the outside flight of the triumphal arch that opens onto the Manueline nave.
